Why Stuarti?
My great great great great great great great grandmother married John Stewart in 1691. You would be amazed by how many John Stewarts immigrated to the new colonies in the 17th and 18th centuries. John Stewart was the John Doe of the time. He was High Sheriff of Monmouth County, New Jersey for 20 years.
His wife's name was really Elizabeth Alberti. Her father was from Florence, Italy. You know how those Italian mothers are. I'm sure she insists all her descendants are Italian.
Why Blog?
This site is my laboratory for learning the web framework Drupal. I'm also using it to experiment with minimal design. I'm one of the apparently few people whose eyes cross while trying to read a web site with everything possible on it.
I'm also using it to learn jQuery and Font Face. You can't see the jQuery parts, but the titles are the Jinky font by Patrick Broderick of Rotodesign and not pictures.
The site is also an attempt to build a liquid layout that will work on both a desktop and an iPhone. If you grab the right side of your browser and keep moving it to the left, everything will become real skinny.
It’s also an opportunity for me to whisper memories into the ear of the great void.
